So just wanted to share that Calista officially was switched to her toddler bed on Saturday. The toddler bed just consists of her crib, taking the front railing off, and adding special bed rails to both ends of the bed....so there is a hole in the middle. She took her first nap in it that afternoon. I was worried sick about it the night before wondering if she would stay in bed. Anyway, so when we finally heard her after naptime, we went in to see how she had done. She was sitting on her bed, feet crossed at the ankles, reading a book. It was very cute. That night she did great, just one nightmare (not uncommon for her anyway).
The next morning she didn't wake up until around 9:30, but she was awake and had been playing in her room quietly when we finally went in to get her. She never opened the door and came out. Naptime that day we heard her talking a bit after we put her down but she never came out. I finally went in around 3 hours later to check on her. Apparently she had been up playing before nap, and there she was asleep on the floor, with a blanket over top of her, amidst the blocks she had been playing with. Opening the door had woken her up. It was really cute. She manged to tuck herself in on the floor! lol. Poor baby, I felt bad but she didn't seem to mind. She did great this morning too, she was actually in bed when I went in to get her (I could hear her up and moving around and talking)....she never came out of her room. She seems to understand sleeptime isn't over until I come in to get her. I wonder how long this will last?
So, she is doing great.
On another funny note, just a few minutes ago we walked in the door from my earlier Weight Watchers meeting. She was up on the love seat, laying on her stomach. I hear her pass some gas and then she says "Mamma!" in that sarcastic playful tone that she says she wants to recognize what just happened, but didn't want to take the blame. It was quite funny actually. She is her mother's/father's child? lol. ;-)
Ok, just wanted to share!
